Marco Gandolfo is an Italian director, editor and cinematographer. His work has been aired by important broadcasters as Rai, Mediaset, Sky, TF1, EWTN. After 6 years of experience in SkyNews he started attending to documentary films shooting and editing for “GREATER – defeating AIDS” by Emmanuel Exitu, awarded by Spike Lee as the best documentary film at the Babelgum Online Film Festival in 2008. This film, shot in the slums of Kampala, tells how the lives of some AIDS patients changed after meeting Rose Busingye, an Ugandan nurse. Three years later “I Am Here”, a new documentary resulting from the collaboration between Exitu and Gandolfo, won the Rome Independent Film Festival. Over the past 12 years Marco has been working with Italian and international authors such as Paul Badde, Monica Maggioni, Fernando De Haro, Gian Micalessin, Francesco Cabras, Alberto Molinari. In 2012 he was involved in the realization of the video-installation “Italian Landstories” at the Biennale Architettura in Venice. “Bisagno” (2015), aired by Rai Storia, is his first full-length documentary film as a director. In addition to his activity as a documentary filmmaker, Gandolfo made many corporate videos for clients as FAO, Beta80 Group, Four In The Morning, Wip.

The themes addressed by his films are very varied and range from diseases to wars, from persecuted minorities to nature conservation, from history to art, from work to technology. The fundamental characteristic of his works is the continuous search for a seed of beauty and hope even in the most dramatic situations.
